Global health series - COVID-19 in Canada - A family medicine perspective (ON-DEMAND: 12mins)

Presentation Description

The unique circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic challenged family physicians in Canada to make fundamental adjustments to the way they provide patient care, organize community-level responses and access current evidence-based clinical guidelines. The presentation will provide a Canadian perspective on the challenges and opportunities of the shift to virtual appointments, insights on the importance of patient communication, appropriate government support and evolving remuneration systems. While the pandemic continues to be a major challenge, the changes it necessitates should stimulate long-term development in the delivery of patient-centred care in Canada and around the world.
